2003 745Li Navigation in German

Hi, I'm new to this forum.

I have a crazy problem. All menus on iDrive of my 2003 745Li are in English except the Navigation menus which are in German. I've tried going to Settings and changed the language to French (or Spanish), which changes all menus, not just the Nav menus, to the new language. Then I changed back to English and now the Nav menus are in English and remain there until I shut the car off. When I restart the car only the Navigation menus go back to German. What a pain! Also, not sure if this is related but the Nav system used to speak directions, which is no longer does. Anyone have any ideas?
