2001 X5 Phone Options- Bluetooth?

Ok, the BMW phone CPT9000 doesn't work in my X5. Therefore, I assume the CPT8000 will fit in the integrated console. However, I'm told the 8000 version sucks.

Here's my series of crazy questions-

Is the 8000 really that bad?

Is there a different phone that will integrate into the 8000 plugs?

Since the 2001 X5 apparently does not have bluetooth (which is what I really want), can you add it? I don't mean add an aftermarket bluetooth car kit, but add bluetooth to the X5 where the button on the steering wheel, etc works.
