I have had two 3 series coupes and am now interested in some open air driving. I just don't like the Z4's looks as well as the Z3. Ergo, I need to know any major differences between the 2001 and the 2002 models. I prefer a stick with 3.0. Were there any problems fixed with the last model that plagued the 2001s?
Thanks for the advice. I'm in no big hurry to buy. Maybe for my B'day in Jan. Yeah! That's the Ticket!

As far as I know there are no recalls with the 2001 Z3 model.

I'm not aware of any problems with either year.

If you have got 6 months before purchase then start looking at the Z4.... you might find that it grows on you.

If pricing is the same, get the newer one. If the old one is cheaper then get that one and spend the extra on a couple of upgrades.
