1998 Z3 Radio

I just purchased a Alpine stereo and installed it in my 1998 BMW Z3 roadster. I can't get any sound out of the speakers, It does get sound if I straight wire it to speakers outside the car. I have double checked the wiring and also traced some of the wiring to the speakers, still no sound. Any help?

I am not sure but on some cars the car has a built in amp and your Alpine stereo will have a built in amp. The two amps cant work together so that would make it so you dont get any sound. This is the case on lots of cars with premium sound packages. I dont know if your car does or not. Bring the car in to a GOOD stereo shop and have them bypass the amp in the car. Hope that is some help.
