1998 740i Radio?? No power or code?

Hi,

I just picked up a 98 740 of course the pixels are dead or almost dead.
The battery had been disconnected for a year.
I read there is no radio code for the 98?
anyone kno if thats right?
If so where would I get the code?
if no code does anyone have/know where I can get instuctions to do it "Blindly"
Also I did try to put a cassette in and it wouldn't take it...
But.. the telephone beeps when u start it

In the mid Nineties BMW did not use the anti-theft code system, just a head unit which required extra components fitted in the boot area...
The majority of the controls are on the MID (under the radio) !!
As you have dead pixels, you won't be able to see which button does what.
Also, check the aerial amplifer at the rear of the car because this can make it more dificult to tune the radio if its not operating correctly...
