1997 740IL Ignition Key Hot After Driving???

Intermittent problem. Metal Part too Hot to touch! Any Ideas?? Have not seen this issue on any threads. Thanks!!

Is there a key fob charger? Maybe there's a fault with that.

Hmmmm... this is a new one...but probably a short in the ignition switch, the switch is located just behind the barrel, a black rectanguler box, you cant really miss it, but you will have to remove the cowls top and bottom to see it,,mainly the bottom one...I cant say this is the problem, but Ive never felt my key....

Easy to replace plug and play....
