i started my 95 740i the other day, everything seamed fine i revved it after it had warmed up and it started running rough and then it acted like it ran out of gas, the fuel gague says it has a 1/4 of a tank. i disconnected fuel filter, it was pressurized, but after turning the key on no gas ran out.
When you say "acted like it ran out of gas" do you mean it stalled and cut out?
Might not be a fuel problem, but other things you can check is the fuel pump relay and the pump itself. It was running, then started running really rough check your MAF.
