I have a 740 il with m parrallel wheels , and the problem is at about 43mph the front end begins to shake like the wheels are falling off.Once i go alittle faster it goes away. I had the tires balenced 3 times using the road force machine and I also changed the tires and wheels and it still has not changed .
Has anyone had this problem? And where do I look next. used
are they rubbing on the ball joints or tie rods? that happened to me few weeks ago. if it feels sorta shaky and sorta flat feeler, check it before it kills your tires

sounds to me like the entire front suspension needs a carefull look over. Idler arm, centerlink, sway bar end links, ball joints and even the thrust arm bushings. Any of these things worn out can cause the symptoms that you are having. How many miles are on the car??

yeah Mike, sounds like it is time to have everything checked. Be prepared to spend some $$ though. With 95k on a 740 I am willing to bet alot of replacing is in order (unless the previous owner has recently done so). And as I mentioned in my last post and as Kjay has managed to repeat, check the control arm bushings (thrust bushings).

Thanks for the info i know ther was some front end work done by the last owner I checked the dealer that he went to , He actualy kept all the service records.
I vote for the "push strut" bushings as mentioned above. They'll cause that very shimmy at about 40 mph, and it'll go away as you speed up.
It could be other issues as well, it needs to be looked over.
