i have a 2001 bmw 740i e38 4 dr
has gps,, but how do i find out if i have bluetooth installed in it?
like hands free,,to integrated with the radio/gps!?
also looking for a copy of the california cd gps map,,
Do you have the comms pack option installed ? If you have a telephone built in to the centre armrest you have hands free already, but unless somebody has retro fitted bluetooth, you wont have bluetooth.

and yes i have a phone built in in the center armrest,,the only think is,,the phone is missing but the wire w/the plug is still there!
and on my gps screen i have a tel function and it give s me 2 options 1.phone 2. emergency,,but i try and is not working,,i dont know much about,,
The comms pack is the phone and handsfree, you should have a button on the steering wheel with a phone symbol on it, when you get a phone thats for your model and get it plugged in you will have handsfree.I think you can check which phone it is here: RealOEM.com Online BMW Parts Catalog or look in your owners manual.

If you enter your car VIN # it may narrow the phone model down.
so i need to get the phone, can i put any phone that will fit that plug,,or it must be bmw phone?
,,and then,,
how my mobile cell phone will conect with the car?
thanks
Not sure on does it have to be BMW I presume any of the the models listed, but you still have to identify which model of phone.
As for how does your mobile cell connect? well this will become your mobile cell just put your SIM card in or if you want to keep your mobile use.........call divert to the car phone and vice-versa

You have to have the phone for your car, before you can do anything at all, thats what ive been trying to tell you and from the pics you also have voice activation, if you didnt know.
